Step 2
Why you might want to consider attending an ongoing group:
Deeply connect with other women – the masks are off
An opportunity to read and discuss those books listed on the website or mentioned in class you’ve been meaning to read (e.g. Boundaries in Marriage, Search for Significance, etc.)
To have a place to share your highs and lows on a journey that lasts longer than 11 weeks.
You may feel called to reach out and support other women, just as you have been supported.

Welcome Group
Purpose:
Lots of information & some small group support Sharing:
Relationships & trust develop as we experience the freedom of being able to talk about this issue Format of group:
1 1/2 hours: Split between teaching, and small group time (most weeks). Ensuring adequate time for everyone to share every week is essential, as time together is short Importance of homework:
Sharing is directly related to homework/written story. Cost:
$175 for 11-week class |
Ongoing Group
Purpose:
Review and go deeper on things we learned. Focus is support on the ongoing journey. Accountability as we work on ourselves. Sharing:
Over time as relationships are developed, sharing will get deeper Format of group:
1 1⁄2- 2 hrs for: Sharing our weeks, sharing study book answers, accountability update*, prayer. In general, members should be given equal time to share; however a crisis one week may demand more time – this is okay since we are developing long-term relationships Importance of homework:
We can still share our weeks/accountability even if we miss a week of homework. Book study is important but secondary. Cost: $20/month “Sharing the Cost” fee. If husband is in a PLA FMO group and up to date on his fees, there is no fee for the wife (PLA’s Couple Rate). Volunteering and/or a fee reduction program is available if needed |
*Accountability – Each woman attending an ongoing group chooses something that she can work on; something that helps her be who God is calling her to be in her life and/or marriage. Each week, women share how they are doing on their accountability item. Usually, women will stick with one item for awhile. Rationale: This allows us to focus on our own issues and what we can do to heal so it’s not about him. It parallels what the men do in FMO (sharing their weeks and how they are doing in regards to their sobriety line).
